12 miles of small spring-fed creek with consistent flows, good pools and pockets, and surprising browns. In this land of trout streams, two carry the name Trout Run Creek. One however, is a tiny tributary of the Middle Branch of the Whitewater. The other and larger flows into the North Branch of the Root River not far from Lanesboro. This is one of the prettiest of trout streams anywhere and paths along the bank, stiles over fences, and general freedom from litter show that, while heavily fished, it’s fished by anglers who care. Species: Brown, brook. Angling methods: spin, and fly-fishing.

well-deserved mention as a mention in that guide book.... it's a gem, though don't expect too many lunkers-- lots of 10-14 in. fish..... scenic and intimate, well worth a visit....
