Best known for steelhead and salmon, its browns sometimes get overlooked. So, you pays your money and you takes your choice: is it steelhead of early winter when lake-spawned snow squalls clog the guides of your rod or is it those big Chinook that burst into the river like fireworks on the Fourth of July? What about rainbows, foolishly slashing at almost any pattern or secretive and sizeable browns that feed gently in the gathering dusk of evening in the upper river? The Little Manistee may not be the best trout river in the area, but few streams offer more variety and fish as well. Species: Steelhead, Chinook, rainbow, brown. Angling methods: spin, and fly-fishing.

Went Kayaking near Harper Lake and had a blast. A nice easygoing day on the river. Definitely recommended!
