Situated approximately 10 miles east of the Rocky Mountain Front in open prairie, Pishkun Reservoir is unique among prairie lakes because of its crystal clear water. It provides ample stop-over space for migratory waterfowl of the Central Flyway. Pishkun is located in Teton County and several other reservoirs—Nilan, Willow Creek, and Gibson—all lie within 30 miles. A public campground with boat launch facilities is located at the reservoir. Pishkun ranges in depth from 30 feet on its western end to a maximum of 81 feet near the eastern end, and it’s a good prairie fishery because of its high water quality. Northern pike, rainbow trout, and yellow perch all provide the most sophisticated angler with plenty of excitement.
