This walk explores two Covington neighborhoods, as well as approximately 1 mile of greenway, nestled against the Licking River. Wallace Woods and Austinburg are both strong historic neighborhoods with diverse architecture and diverse populations. Heavily influenced by the streetcar, these neighborhoods were some of the most desired places to live in the 1920s. But like many urban neighborhoods, they saw some decline in the 1960s. Austinburg had more modest beginnings and has been on a bit of a slower path toward resurgence. Today, Wallace Woods is considered a great Covington neighborhood, with large homes on large lots and tree-lined streets.
