The 4-mile loop road rises and falls as it surrounds the lush green forest known as Lynch’s Woods. A small muddy creek and some wet-weather tributaries snake their way through this perfect patch of paradise that sits tucked away in the sprawling town of Newberry. The campground has the bare minimum, simply a few flat spots to pitch a tent, and a special permit is required to light a campfire. Locals frequent Lynch’s Woods on a regular basis, as it has several miles of well-groomed hiking and mountain bike trails. Horseback riding is also allowed on the main park road and on designated trails.
