This side trail climbs from the East Fork Eagle Creek Trail in the spectacular East Fork Eagle Creek Canyon to Hidden Lake, passing Moon Lake along the way. The Hidden Lake Trail turns left (west) off the East Fork Eagle Creek Trail (6,170 ft.). It drops slightly for 50 yards, then crosses East Eagle Creek. After crossing the creek it heads northwest for 0.2 mile, then makes a switchback to the left at the edge of the timber. There is a campsite in the timber, next to the switchback. After making the switchback the trail works its way up, staying on the north side of the outlet stream of Moon Lake. At first it goes through some timber, then it climbs on mostly open slopes and crosses several small streams to reach Moon Lake (7,060 ft.). There are several camping spots in the trees around Moon Lake.
