This trail (backpack) runs from East Eagle Creek Trailhead to Mirror Lake, providing the easiest access to the popular Lakes Basin area from the south. The route also accesses Hidden Lake, Frazier Pass, and Minam Lake/Mirror Lake Trails (Trail 1910). The route climbs the East Eagle Creek Canyon which is probably the most scenic in the southern part of the Wallowa Mountains. The canyon is really a deep glacial valley with mostly light gray cliffs rising above. At the head of the valley the track forces its way over Horton Pass, very close to 9,572 foot high Eagle Cap.
