A short hike of slightly over 2 miles leads from Dobbin CreekTrail to Fox Point.(Trail 1664) Much of the country along this route was burned some years ago. Because of the fire the views are much better than they were when this ridge was thickly forested. The flowers are also great in the burned areas. A large portion of the area along this trail was burned in the Fox Point forest fire. The trail turns northeast off Dobbin Creek Trail (1654) about 50 yards above (west of) the point where Dobbin Creek Trail flattens out for the first time after leaving Standley Ridge Trail (6,860 ft.). The unmarked junction can be difficult to find in this nearly completely burned area. At first the trail crosses a small flat area through the scorched woods. Soon it begins to contour along a hillside. After traversing along, nearly level, for 0.5 mile, the trail turns uphill to the east for a short distance and climbs to the top of the ridge (7,060 ft.).
