This trail, suitable for a day hike or backpack, leads from Two Pan Trailhead to Mirror Lake. The East Fork Lostine River Trail is one of the most scenic hikes in the Wallowas. The route climbs into a textbook perfect example of a U-shaped glacial valley, with light colored cliffs on both sides and meadows traversed by a stream in the bottom. (Trail 1662) Head south from the parking area. Follow the trail 200 yards south to the wilderness boundary and the junction with the West Fork Lostine River Trail. Another trail from the south side of the large parking area connects with the main trail just before the junction. Bear left at the junction. From here the trail climbs for 1 mile to a single log bridge crossing the East Fork of the Lostine River.
