This half-day loop hike traverses the Roaring River Hills Wild Area and the Roaring River Cove Hardwood Natural Area, both of which provide habitat for several species of plants and animals that are found only in this region of the state. Don’t forget your fishing pole for a little pre- or post-hike casting! One of Missouri’s oldest state parks, Roaring River State Park offers a wide variety of recreational activities. Perhaps best known for the trophy trout that swim the waters of Roaring River Spring, the park also offers excellent opportunities for hiking, camping, swimming, and just enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
