This 7.8-mile loop trail climbs up and around Mudlick Mountain and offers overlooks of Big Creek and the surrounding Ozark hillsides and St. Francois Mountains, one of the oldest mountain ranges in North America. Fantastic views, historic old hiker shelters, and an optional short side trip to the top of Mudlick Mountain make this an excellent day trip. A small network of trails through the Mudlick Trail System provides several different hiking opportunities for shorter and longer hikes and backpacking trips.
