Located within R.J.D. Memorial Hardwood State Forest, this campground offers 17 miles of highly scenic trails (hikers share the trails with riders at various points), especially in spring, when the wildflowers bloom. The campground is open year-round, but horse trails are closed in winter, with cross-country ski and snowmobile trails opening instead. The forest itself has access to the Cannon, Mississippi, Root, Whitewater, and Zumbro Rivers, and extensive hiking trails throughout the forest and along the rivers. (Note: The forest is open to hunters, so take precautions if camping during hunting season.) Campsites are wooded and private. Pets are allowed.
