This is a very popular park for both camping and day visits, so plan ahead. The additional draws offered by this park include Forestville, a restored 1880s village (aptly named, given that this park is extremely densely wooded), and in the summer, Mystery Cave tours that explore underground caves full of stalactites and stalagmites. Several different tours are offered, based on length and difficulty. Hikers and horse enthusiasts love this park, with its 20 miles of hiking trails and 17 miles of horse trails that wind through the thick forest. There’s also a good trout stream that is composed of three trout streams converging within the park, which makes for excellent angling. In winter nearly 10 miles each of groomed cross- country ski and snowmobile trails are open.
