The Whitewater River runs through this park and is a designated trout stream, attracting anglers. There are 5 miles of hiking trails with excellent overlooks onto the river. Bird-watchers, wildlife viewers, and wildflower enthusiasts all have much to enjoy here, including deer, beaver, gray and red foxes, coyotes, great horned owls, and pileated woodpeckers. This is a good alternative to the nearby and more heavily visited Whitewater State Park. Campsites are tucked into the woods and very private. Pets are allowed.
