This lovely park is situated where the Blue Earth River meets the Minnesota River, providing ample boating and fishing opportunities. The park is part forest, part grassland, and there are unpaved hiking trails that explore the park and into the city. The park is adjacent to paved biking trails, including the Minneopa Cut-Off that leads to Minneopa State Park and the Red Jacket/Lake Crystal Loop, which is several miles long and circles numerous other lakes and parks, then intersects with the Garden City Extension and Kasota/St. Peter Loop trails. The campsites are very generously spaced, and many have trees for shade. Pets are allowed.
