This tiny campground is on the shores of Lime Lake, a good fishing lake (both shore and boat fishing) for northern pike and panfish. There are hiking trails that wind into the woods and along the lake. With only 3 campsites, privacy isn’t an issue. Pets are allowed.
If the northern part of the state is about forests and dramatic glacial terrain, the southern part of the state has an entirely different feel. Here you will find historic old river towns, remnants of the tragic US- Dakota War of 1862, evidence of pioneer life (especially that of Laura Ingalls Wilder), reminders of Jesse James, ancient petroglyphs, country lanes, and, to the west, prairie land that stretches for miles (and will continue to expand, as land used for other purposes is slowly being returned to its native prairie state).
