This park offers both river and lake fishing, with trout, bass, and bluegill the primary fish. The terrain is rolling, with both woodlands and prairies, and nearly 16 miles of hiking trails with scenic overlooks to explore, including part of the Dakota Valley Trail. There are also 10 miles of horse trails and 4 miles of mountain bike trails. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, skate-skiing, and snowshoeing. The historic Jones Mill is within the park and is occasionally open to the public. Wildflowers are prolific in the spring and summer. The campsites are divided into two campgrounds, mostly wooded, which helps with shade and privacy. Pets are allowed.
