This rolling, heavily forested park opened in 2015. A picnic area high on a hill gives fantastic views to the Vermilion River Wildlife and Aquatic Management Area. There are 10 miles of summer hiking trails, 6 miles of cross- country ski trails (for an additional fee), and 5 miles of snowshoeing and winter hiking trails. In the summer, kids have access to the Fawn Crossing Nature Play Area, where they can build forts, play in the sand, watch wildlife, and explore nature on their terms. The 3 camper cabins in the park have electricity and heat but no TV or Wi- Fi. These are attractive, small structures tucked into the woods, with plenty of privacy. Pets are allowed.
