Located within Sand Dunes State Forest, this campground offers 17 miles of multiuse (but not open to ATVs) trails. The forest itself has an additional 12 miles of horse trails as well as hiking and mountain biking trails; swimming, boating, and fishing is available on Ann Lake. The horse campsites are not reservable, but they are quite popular in summer—arrive early for weekend visits. (Note: The forest is open to hunters, so take precautions if camping during hunting season.) The campsites are well spaced to allow for privacy. Pets are allowed.
