The park is named not for the famous aviator but for his father, who built the home the aviator grew up in, which is now a historic site adjacent to the park. The parkland was used by Lindbergh as a family farm for many years. Today it offers access to the Mississippi River and Pike Creek, along with 7 miles of hiking trails, some open for winter hiking. Bald eagles are seen year-round here. There’s also a historic WPA picnic shelter and stone water tower. The campsites are along Pike Creek, spread widely and privately in a huge stand of red pines. Pets are allowed.
