Located within Birch Lakes State Forest, this campground is on the shores of Big Birch Lake. This can be noisy for campers, as motorized boats are allowed, and the campsites are near the boat access area. The lake is a good spot for fishing, with walleye, bass, and northern pike in abundance.
There’s a short nature trail (wheelchair- accessible) that wanders into the woods. In spite of the location near the boat access area, the campsites are otherwise fairly private and separate, each with its own driveway. (Note: The forest is open to hunters in hunting season, so take precautions if you’re camping then.) Pets are allowed.
