This park is a beautiful place to visit any time of year, given its glacially sculpted terrain, but when the foliage begins to turn in the fall, the maples put on quite a show. Overall, there’s a great deal of recreation, with 8 lakes, 25 miles of hiking trails, 20 miles of horse trails, 13 miles of cross-country ski trails, and 20 miles of snowmobile trails.
Wildlife is abundant, with 150 bird species recorded here and 50 species of mammals. The campsites are in some incredibly dense forest areas, making them secluded and private, not to mention pleasantly shady. Pets are allowed.
