Located within Superior National Forest and near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, this campground offers excellent boating and fishing for northern pike, walleye, perch, and crappie (from shore as well as from a boat). The lake is popular with canoers, and canoes are available for rental. The forest itself offers bountiful recreation, including numerous swimming beaches, hiking and biking trails, and 77 lake accesses. This is also a good spot for berry picking in late summer. Campers using the backpack sites must pack out their garbage. (Note: The forest is open to hunters, so take precautions if camping during hunting season.) Campsites are well spaced and have plenty of trees. Pets are allowed.
