“Big Winnie” is the affectionate nickname locals have bestowed upon Lake Winnibigoshish, one of Minnesota’s largest lakes and a popular fishing area, especially for muskie, walleye, and perch. The campground is perfectly situated near the lake, which has 141 miles of shoreline. Hiking and biking trails meander along the lake and into the forest that lines the shores. Campsites nestle among red and white pines, giving campers the best of both forest and lake scenery, and a decent amount of privacy. Pets are allowed.
