Star Island is a heavily wooded, star- shaped island on Cass Lake. The island has several miles of hiking trails throughout its woods, and the campsites on the eastern shore provide beautiful sunrise views. It’s a great spot to search for eagles. Part of the island’s draw is Lake Windigo in the center of the island, the only spring- fed lake within a river-fed lake in the northern hemisphere. Campers need to bring drinking water and pack out their garbage. Pets are allowed.
