This primitive campground is within the Shingobee Recreation Area in Chippewa National Forest. The area is heavily wooded and contains rolling river valley terrain. There are 6 miles of hiking trails in summer and groomed cross-country ski trails in winter, as well as a sliding hill. (Note: This area is open to hunters during the fall hunting season, so take the appropriate precautions.) There is no drinkable water, so you’ll need to plan accordingly, and be prepared to haul all items out again. Pets are allowed.
