Pokegama Lake is a popular, busy lake, especially during the summer festival season when nearby Grand Rapids is drawing out- of- town crowds. Many of the campsites have views directly onto the Mississippi River, while Pokegama Lake itself attracts fishing, boating, waterskiing, and personal watercraft users. Walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and northern pike are in abundance. During summer, wild berries (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries) can be found. Campsites are reasonably spaced. Pets are allowed.
