This small, inexpensive campsite has primitive facilities but a beautiful location on Mabel Lake, not far from Leech Lake. It’s a quieter alternative to some of the bigger Leech Lake campgrounds. Besides access to Mabel Lake, canoers will appreciate paddling the nearby Boy River, from which eagles and osprey are frequently spotted. Wildlife can also be seen along the hiking trail that wanders into the forest. Half the campsites are along the lake, with the rest tucked into the forest along a single loop with plenty of space and privacy. Pets are allowed.
