This popular state park has much to offer visitors. Access to the lake via a concrete boat ramp, as well as 10 slips for guest use, is combined with plenty of flora and fauna (best viewed from a walk along the bogwalk through a tamarack- spruce bog that contains a number of rare plants, including orchids). This is also a good spot to catch sight of eagles and osprey. There’s plenty of recreation year- round as well, including 11 miles of hiking trails, 5 miles of mountain bike trails, and 8 miles of cross- country ski trails. (Note: Not all sites or sanitation options are open in winter.) The campsites are spread out over 4 loops, which keeps the sites from feeling overly crowded, and Wi-Fi is being introduced into the campsite areas. Pets are allowed.
