Marshall Park is so full of amenities that it feels like a resort. This is a good campground to go to with kids, as there’s plenty for them to do: bike, swim, paddleboat, play on the recently installed playground equipment, or tackle a sport on one of the various sport courts. Organized activities are offered for kids on the weekends in season. Sites are reasonably spaced for privacy. Pets are allowed. Minnesota may be best known for its northeast corner along Lake Superior, and certainly that’s a strikingly beautiful place, but the northwest part of the state, while very different in terrain and feel, has great beauty as well. Even better, it has excellent outdoor recreational opportunities. Along the borders of the Dakotas and the Red River Valley, the land is flat, and you can drive for miles and see nothing but immense tracts of agriculture.
