Fed by rain, the Washougal River rises and falls quickly. The varying levels bring new dimensions to the run, making each trip different from the last. At most levels boaters find frequent play spots. In June, paddling the 100 cubic feet per second can be easy, but technical. In winter, boaters enjoy flows exceeding 4,000 cubic feet per second. Typical flows range form 200 to 1,500 cubic feet per second.
