This chain of state park and wildlife refuge islands is famed for its intricate geology as well as its potentially treacherous waters. Separated by miles of sea from other islands in the San Juan group to the south, and open to the expanse of the Strait of Georgia, they are relatively isolated and very beautiful.

An incredible trip for those seeking near coastal conditions or a paddling challenge. Vertical rock cliffs, sea caves, arches, and abundant sea life are common sights. Great rock gardening for experienced paddlers on days with larger swell. Make sure you plan practice good surf etiquette when landing at Salt Creek / Crescent Beach. A popular surfing area, sea kayakers without strong surfing skills can be a danger to others in the surf zone. Land away from other surfers.
