I found this to be a very relaxing and enjoyable paddle. We launched at just after low tide on the north side of the road connecting Maury and Vashon islands. There is room to pull off right next to road and it is a short scramble down to the beach. At low tide it was roughly 50-75 yards to the water.
The ebbing tide seemed to give us a little push the whole way. The shoreline for the first half of the paddle was fairly undeveloped but nothing spectacular. Saw some eagles, a couple of ospreys and a few seals. Just a nice day on the water. The full loop of the island took about 5 hours including about 30 minutes for lunch. Plenty of pull out spots along the East side of Maury for lunch. Beautiful weather and just a nice day to be on the water.
