This well-graveled, clean-flowing mountain stream gushes past spectacular palisades and through thick pine forests, providing some of the best fishing in western Montana. The river is all Class I, except for a short Class II whitewater section through the Dalles. All suitable for intermediates in rafts. During a high moisture year, try a fall overnight trip on the upper river.
