From City Point, one can paddle to the Boston Harbor Islands for a strenuous full-day outing or take a spin around Old Harbor and Thompson Island for a short and easy paddle. Many kayakers also paddle from City Point to Fort Point Channel to a popular dockside restaurant. Dorchester Bay and Old Harbor are filled with activity. High-speed ferries, cargo ships and a multitude of pleasure boats rock the water around City Point. An extension rather than a respite from the traffic and noise of Boston, this area is nonetheless filled with interesting sites and fascinating history.
