Big Musquash Stream, at least 100 feet across for much of its length, flows several miles through a broad, treeless valley. Pointed firs of the northern boreal forest border the meadow; a few white birch, aspen, and red maple mix in among the conifers. Some shrubby alders border the water in places, along with bog rosemary, leatherleaf, and sweetgale that bloomed when we paddled here. FISH: smallmouth bass, chain pickerel.
