We enjoyed paddling here, especially when wind made paddling the area’s larger lakes treacherous. Unfortunately, when we visited in 2004, the entire shoreline was for sale as one large 1,565-acre parcel. As we paddled up narrow Josh Stream as it meandered through a vast, shrubby marsh, listening to the ever-present yellowthroats and whitethroated sparrows calling from the undergrowth, we wondered about the fate of this pristine lake. FISH: smallmouth bass, white perch, chain pickerel.
