Spectacular. Awesome. Superlatives have a hard time adequately conveying the beauty of these ponds and the surrounding mountains. The ponds are perched in an alpine valley at about a thousand feet above sea level. The surrounding mountain peaks rise another 2,500 feet, much of that rise in exposed rock faces. Prominent fish species: brook trout.
