Branns Mill Pond is a real gem, full of wildlife and a joy to explore, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. On a windy day when other lakes in the area bristle with whitecaps, this pond remains much quieter and more suitable for paddling. As you paddle up the creek, the channel narrows gradually and the current picks up. Notice that the trees growing on the banks get progressively shorter closer to the stream, evidence of a narrowing channel. Prominent fish species: white perch and chain pickerel.
