The Neponset River, which forms Boston’s southern boundary, flows lazily for about 8 miles through extensive wetlands with very limited development. Streamside trees, shrubs, and vines form an overarching canopy in many areas, making it a great place to paddle on hot, sunny days. You can find wood duck, great blue heron, beaver, and deer here.
