This trip has big lakes, small lakes, creeks, and rivers. Only two of the portages are longer than 160 rods. Spectacular hills and rocky cliffs surround clear water lakes, and the fishing for walleye, northern pike, and lake trout can be fulfilling. Wildlife is about. Solitude is easy to find. You cross the Laurentian Divide. You can even find a hot shower and groceries on the way back. When you finish this trip you will be a seasoned paddler, if you weren’t before.
