The easy-going White River offers pleasant floats through the southern section of Manistee National Forest. A mild-mannered and scenic river for much of its canoeable length, the White River is suitable for family outings. Access points are relatively few, however, and several of those that do exist are controlled by local liveries. Make sure to secure permission to use such access sites before setting out.
