Quick and winding for much of its length, Minnehaha's often natural character belies its urban setting. Watch for downed trees, low culverts, and dams at Browndale Avenue, Lake Nokomis, and Lake Hiawatha. Keep an eye out for tee shots at the Meadowbrook Golf Course near Excelsior Boulevard. And be double sure to take out before 50-feet Mennehaha Falls. In high water, the swift turns through narrow sections, especially those with retaining walls and bridges, get tricky.
