Leaving First Crow Wing Lake, the Crow Wing River takes on the character of free-flowing stream. Clear and placid, it's perfect for the first-time river runner. Wooded and largely undeveloped, this stretch has many campsites and is a good choice for an overnight trip. The current is lively, but there are no rapids along this section. Because of its beginnings in a series of lakes, the river flows exceedingly clear. The riverside is wooded.
