It only takes about 15 minutes if you were to run straight through. But if you're expert enough to run the falls and steepest part of the canyon, you'll probably want to carry back up and run it again and again. The Vermilion slyly glides around a bend, picks up a bit of speed and suddenly plunges over a cascading 20-foot drop. The sight from the precipice is riveting. It would be beautiful- affording a long, dramatic view of the rapids-filled gorge below- except that you are too occupied with the business of saving your hide to enjoy it.
