This section of the Vermilion forms a long lake, lined with marsh. The Vermilion pools up and forms a narrow, riverine lake with little perceptible current. If you're into whitewater, you'll probably want to avoid this stretch. But if you like wild country and undeveloped shore, give it a try- by itself or as an add-on to the stretch above or below. The lake is shallow, averaging less than 6 fee deep. The shores are predominantly low and boggy; hills rise far in the distance.
