The Big Fork provides the occasional wild ride as it flows past a mix of forest land and farms. With many developed campsites, it's a good choice for an overnight trip. Two things in particular recommend the Big Fork, the wild character of the surrounding forest and the presence of large muskies in the river. To appreciate the wild country around you, plan an overnight trip. If you’re lucky, you may hear the howls of timber wolves. To catch a muskie, cast a large spinner, spinnerbait, or plug to deep shorelines, eddies, and pools as you drift downstream. Despite its name, the Big Fork is similar in size to its neighbor, the Little Fork.
