Keeney Creek is one of the most difficult creeks described in this book, if not THE most difficult. It is very small, very steep, and incredibly demanding. The creek starts off slow at the put-in, but once it starts dropping there’s no stopping until you reach the New River. The action is utterly continuous, with lots of big boulder drops, slides, and waterfalls. There are a number of downed trees that clog the drops, and several deadly sieves that must be avoided.
