This creek leaves US 19 and civilization, meandering off toward the Gauley River and Summersville Lake in a deceptively lazy manner. Rounding the first curve the gradient picks up, and the drops get very constricted. Several excellent pinning situations exist with trees and rocks so don’t spend your time gazing at the scenery. This short, exciting trip comes to an end too soon when you reach the backwater of Summersville Lake.

I think the water was a bit low but that was good for me and my three sons. we had not done a lot of white water so this was a great place for us to start.
