These small headwater streams are well off the beaten track, but provide entertainment for solid intermediates looking to explore new country. The Right Fork is a marginal run, even at high water. The first 3 miles to Silica are tiny and scrapy with occasional tree hazards. A decent-sized tributary makes boating reasonable from there on down. Not far past Silica is a small island, below which is an imposing, tilting, double ledge (3 feet and 6 feet). Afterward, there are a few other small ledges, then nonstop whitewater (Class 3) to Selbyville. There is a six-foot dam at a camp in Selbyville; carry on the left. The river is much slower below here to Alexander on the Buckhannon.
